It has been long in the making but @last we do get terrorism delivered @home. Who will deny us refuge from such indiscriminate violence? It is now up to ourselves to look for other solutions than those handed to us by our governments who answer what they see as non-state terrorist violence with state violence. Governments and international state alliances that send in once again bombing airplanes in civil war theatres, be it in Asia, Africa or the Middle East, failing to create other strategies than the pure military, from Afghanistan and Chechnya to Libya and Syria.
We have caged ourselves by supporting such policies. Freedom is only attainable as an equal relationship between individuals, here and there. The only strategy left to us is a long term one, that fosters equality in all domains on an international scale. Wealth should be made into a ‘common wealth’.
However superior a military force seems to be, it will fail to guarantee absolute security @home. Draconic measures of control @home will in the end sacrifice the freedoms in which name they are implemented.
What we deny others we will deny ourselves.
How to flee from a terrorist network?
By undoing the strands by which they have been woven. By understanding how directly and indirectly our societies have been implied in the making of these terrorist networks how our wealth is interwoven with regimes and practices hated enough in all parts of the globe, to mobilise the oppressive counter-forces we witness now.
