Found this on a friend’s Facebook page:
“Hello FB friends,
I think you probably know the drill by now. News feed recently shows only posts from the same few people, about 25, repeatedly the same, because FB has a new algorithm. Their system chooses the people to read Your post. However, I would like to choose for myself, so I ask you a favor: if you read this message leave me a quick comment, a “hello”, a sticker, whatever you want, so you will appear in my news feed. Otherwise Facebook chooses who to show me but I don’t need FB to choose my friends!”
It made me react like this…. (think about it I collected over the years over 600 “Facebook Friends”….
Social algorithms steer the human experience by the way actors and events interact. Ars Combinatoria is of all times… calculations and calculators do differ though… chance is always an element in what occurs. Some see all this as a steering by higher or supreme beings, from pre-destination to reincarnation… so is the phenomenon of calculated friends appearing and disappearing by the Facebook system. Anything new? I do not think so. When one just tries to think how over the last century technology changes and appliances of combinatorian principles did steer something we call ‘the news’ one sees similar intend and patterns. Wheels with letters, numbers, words, are constantly turning. Click, kloink, a matching sign or character is found while all those wheels are interacting. Concordance is found or lost. A “FRIEND” appears or disappears on Facebook….
